THOUGHTFUL GIFTING STARTS HERE

With all the Black Friday deals happening, I keep feeling that pressure to “add to cart” and hurry before the deals (or the items) disappear. I know it’s such a first world problem, but honestly…it’s stressing me out! It gets overwhelming, and by the time I finally think, “Yes, this would actually be meaningful to add to the collection of toys,” it’s already sold out.

Anyone else??

So I started reflecting...

Reflecting on how quickly the rush pulls us in.

How easily manufactured scarcity can make us feel behind.

And how often we end up rushing and buying things we don’t truly need—things that get outgrown, break quickly, or don’t really add any joy once the moment passes.

So what’s the solution? Maybe it’s pausing long enough to ask ourselves:

✨ Do I/we really need this item?

✨ Can we find it secondhand and give something already-made a new life?

✨ If we want something special, can we skip the excess and invest in one meaningful item from a small business instead of a pile of fast buys?

✨ Is there an experience we can gift—something that creates a memory instead of clutter?

Maybe the truth is that slowing down feels better than rushing…and choosing intentionally lasts longer than any lightning deal.

This season, I’m giving myself (and you) permission to shop with clarity, not panic. To choose thoughtfully. To buy with heart. And to remember that the best gifts often aren’t the latest trend that everyone is buying. Am I perfect? No. Not at all! I am simply creating space. A place of pause to be more intention and mondful about what gets purchased and who/where I am purchasing from.

If you’re feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or simply want to give someone the gift of choosing something meaningful for themselves — gift cards are available for purchase.

Give the gift of calm, connection, and confidence this season.

Gift cards can be used toward our brand-new program, “Rooted + Ready,” launching in just a few weeks! This online program includes easy-to-follow meditations and breathing practices you can use anytime—at home or on the go. The best part? They’re designed for the whole family. We’ll even show you how to make these practices accessible for all ages… yes, even for your two-year-old to do independently!

You can also purchase a gift card to Outer Village, where you can register for my classes plus a wide range of other kid + family offerings. And while you're there, shop their beautifully curated clothing, accessories, and toys—perfect for thoughtful gifting.

Looking for gifts that will cultivate curiosity, intention and are made to last?

Here is a list of gift ideas that will cultivate curiosity, empathy, mindfulness, wonder, and creativity. Most of these makers are intentional with their materials, create by hand, and are small and/or local businesses.

Acrylic and Wooden Blocks- Maison Rue (I personally got my kiddos these pipa blocks!)

Myers Natural Toy Studio- (I'm obsessed with how their arts and crafts are displayed with beauty and intentionality.)

Mindful & Co. Kids- I put the yoga cards and affirmation cards on my kiddos list for the family! Also, you can never go wrong with a neutral color breathing ball, lol.

Sarah's Silks- Gifted a bunch of items to my nieces and nephews! We have some at home too.

Looking to shop second hand?

Here are some local and online shops to buy second hand. I personally have found so many treasures and vintage finds for my kids!

Outer Village: SF- Outer Sunset

Chloes Closet: SF- Bernal Heights and Outer Sunset

Bird in the Nest: San Carlos

There really are so many others but these are the few I visit repeatedly! Cant forget the Goodwills but these are kids specific.

Here’s to a slower, more thoughtful holiday season.

Here’s to choosing what truly matters.

With intention and gratitude,

ree
